Everything you need to know about our ICF- aligned Curriculum
In anticipation of a September 20th start date for our Fall 2022 Cohort, IFCE Instructors wanted to give you a sneak peak behind our 135 hour Certified Life, Leadership,& Executive Coach Program curriculum. Read on to learn about our ICF-aligned curriculum and how we build in business development, hands-on learning and a host of exciting topics into our program.
We have aligned our curriculum with the ICF because their Core Competencies provide an evidence-based approach to coaching.
As we shared in last week's post, all of our instructors are ICF credentialed coaches and we have aligned our curriculum with the ICF because the Core Competencies provide an evidence-based approach to coaching that empowers clients to take a leadership role in their growth and development. Our program consists of 22 lessons broken into 5 modules. 80% of our coursework covers the ICF's Core Competencies and Code of Ethics, which means you will receive ICF- aligned instruction in the following areas:
Introduction to the ICF and the history of coaching
Overview of coaching niches, industry statistics and benefits
Overview of the ICF Code of Ethics & Core Competencies
Intro to contracting, invoicing, and onboarding new clients
How to facilitate transformative and productive coaching calls
Supporting clients experiencing a Mental Health crisis
The Business in a Box Program provides step-by step-instructions for launching a business in just 6 months.
The remaining 20% of our curriculum is focused on our Business in a Box Program, which provides step-by step-instructions for launching a business in just 6 months. Alongside planning support to develop your short and long-term business goals, we spend 5 lessons (Module 3) providing students detailed support for developing, managing, and growing their business. Some of the business development topics we review include;
How to pick a business structure and register your entity
Marketing support to develop a website, brand, and messaging strategy
Support to develop your rate, services, budget and financial projections
Planning support for taxes, retirement and professional development
How to get new clients and build a financial pipeline
One of the best things about our curriculum is that we build in a variety of learning approaches that support critical thinking, peer sharing, and experiential learning. That means we often discuss videos, experiment with coaching tests and tools together, role play coaching scenarios, and spend up to two hours of class live coaching. We also share documents such as sample contracts, budget and financial projection excel sheets, and coaching worksheets at no cost. And just in case you miss a class, all of our lessons are recorded. All recorded lessons, PowerPoint slides and materials shared in class are placed in your student folder, which you have access to for life!
